From Dutch traditions to my kitchen.
Dutch cooking is rooted in simple ingredients, regional traditions and comforting food meant to be shared. Potatoes, vegetables, seafood and slowly cooked meats appear throughout the country’s cuisine. My visits to Amsterdam and The Hague introduced me to both traditional Dutch dishes and the wonderfully multicultural food of the Netherlands. Exploring these recipes brings those travels and memories into my own kitchen.

Dutch Cookbook

Dutch Cookbook by Laura de Grave explores the Netherlands through its regional dishes and the stories behind them. From traditional family recipes to foods connected to particular cities and celebrations, the book offers a warm introduction to Dutch cooking. My first recipe from the book was hutspot with klapstuk, a comforting combination of potatoes, carrots and onions served with slowly braised beef and gravy.
