I believe every cookbook tells two stories. One belongs to its author. The other begins the moment we bring it into our own kitchen.
Meet Elizabeth
Hi, I’m Elizabeth.
I’m an American living in Luxembourg who believes food connects us all.

I love to travel, but I don’t leave my travels behind when I come home. Every place I visit sparks a new curiosity. It might be an ingredient I’ve never used, a cooking technique I want to learn, or a meal I can’t wait to recreate. Bringing home a cookbook is simply how I keep the adventure going.
For me, a cookbook is much more than a collection of recipes. It reminds me of the places I’ve visited, the markets I wandered through, the people I met, and the meals I’ll never forget. Every time I open one, I’m inspired to try something new.
That’s really what Liz ‘N Lux is all about.
I’m happiest when I’m learning in the kitchen. One recipe has a way of leading to another idea. Making roasted garlic from a recipe in Paris Picnic Club turned into an obsession with infused oils. Learning fresh pasta in Italy made me want to master new pasta shapes. Before I know it, one cookbook has me chasing another technique or ingredient I can’t wait to try. That’s the fun of it for me.
Cooking has always been part of my life. I grew up cooking alongside my mom, whose creativity, curiosity about different cuisines, and love of food continue to inspire me today. Later, I earned a culinary certificate, worked in a professional kitchen in Chicago, and combined that experience with my background in Mass Communications and my love of storytelling.
Today I call Luxembourg home. It’s especially meaningful because my paternal grandparents emigrated from Luxembourg, and years later I found my way back, became a dual citizen, and now have the privilege of sharing this next chapter from the country where part of my family’s story began. It feels a little like coming full circle.
Whether I’m recreating a favorite meal from my travels or experimenting with something completely new, I hope that you’ll feel inspired to pull out a cookbook, try a new technique, revisit a favorite recipe, or simply spend a little more time in your own kitchen.
I’m so glad you’re here.
